SpidersWeb FTP Access for Delcam UK Customers

Delcam UK customers receive free FTP account on host ftp.spidersweb.co.uk.

Usually their username is their customer code in Delcam's database, the password is provided by other means - i.e. by telephone or in a separate e-mail message.

The ftp server has been setup to run in chrooted environment, meaning the user can see and manipulate only the files and directories under their home directory, which appears as "/", the root of the firesystem in Unix.

The server runs FreeBSD (currently still version 6.0), the FTP server itself is ProFTPD.

One can read files using the URL ftp://{username}:{password}@ftp.spidersweb.co.uk using standard browser (IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.). (replace {username} and {password} with your accounts details)

To upload files to the site, it is recommended (under Windows) to install some FTP client, i.e. WS_FTP, CuteFTP or FileZilla (preferred). Latest version of FileZilla can always be downloaded from the FileZilla site.

After downloading and installing FileZilla, go to File->SiteManager and create a new site with the address ftp.spidersweb.co.uk, username and password - your details, normal login (not anonymous).
